Jon also made a good point when he said that enjoying your

favourite dinner set for as long as possible by extending or replacing

broken pieces was not only rewarding, but also made good environmental sense.

Jon Ward, Managing Director of Chinasearch said, We looked at quite a few solutions to ensure our customers receive their china undamaged. We considered everything from polystyrene to bubble wrap, but we kept coming back to an old classic that outperformed all the modern packaging, as well as being the most environmentally friendly by a long shot.

Old newspapers. They ve been used for decades and we ve found that they are still the best way of protecting chinaware during transit.

We also try to reuse packaging whenever possible, so when a customer or supplier sends us something, we ll carefully unwrap it so the box and packaging can be reused.

When we do use new packaging, we like to use retention packaging. It is very light, hence greener to transport and, like the shredded card we use, easily recyclable as well. When it comes to the environment, there is no Plan B .
